More fun with ink today, with lots of other things going on in the studio. Here’s a peak at my day…here’s all the ink drawings I did today of dogs. They’re kinda like potato chips- I can’t make just one.
Here’s some small square thrown plates, trimmed and drying. I threw them yesterday. This is my favorite time in the process of making pottery. Everything trimmed and lined up, still fresh and damp. After this it all gets complicated: stuff chips or cracks, breaks in the kiln, or glazing gets screwed up. Right now it’s all promise…
And finally, here’s a wall piece I’m working on. Remember the girl with the control tower? I was hoping to have this finished today, but I’m getting into the details and it’s slowing me down. I think she’ll be ready for underglazing by the end of the day Monday.
So that’s my day (well, other than basketball. and moving into my new office).

Crud, think I lost my comment….so I’ll start over…love your site…absolutely love the dog prints! Awesome! You capture their personality. I came home late tonight to find my dog had rolled in something gruesome…spent too much time scrubbing her and now I find your site…love it…Guess what I wrote about tonight…what I had planned…no, I wrote about my stinky dog. As a newbie at blogging, I love finding sites like yours…what a treasure…thank you for sharing…DisorganizedOrganizer.com, GrandmaSheri P.S. Ah, Jordan, poetry in motion…never to be equaled.
This is a lovely productive peak, David. Summer becomes you.
Thanks, y’all, for these wonderfully encouraging comments!
Grandmasheri, I remember when our dog Mickey found something horrible to roll in on a camping trip, and I had to stand in a freezing cold stream and try to clean her off with my hands …..good times…..
